Language development is a key mental ability as a way of human thinking and communication of behavior. Human mental development is reflected in language and also develops through language. Therefore, we consider language development as an independent ability when studying the comprehensive development of Mongolian children. In this article, we aim to present the results of a study that examined language development ability through generalization of concept/word meaning and sentence structure acquisition.
In summary, the results of the study show that children’s language development is the result of generalizing actions. It was found that children’s ability to express their thoughts in simple short sentences appears together with explanation of effects, actions, and external characteristics of things expressed by words. While children who summarize phenomena and events in complex sentences better explain the meaning of words in their essence, especially the main characteristics of words with abstract meanings. Also, children who express their thoughts and ideas in complex sentences have good ability to classify words by meaning. Children who express their thoughts in simple sentences tend to express visible characteristics of objects and events. However, expressing thoughts and ideas in complex sentences is connected with ability to summarize phenomena and events.
