Abstract

This article examines the current status, 
challenges, and prospects for the development of 
special and inclusive education in the Republic of 
Buryatia. The special and inclusive education 
system in the Republic of Buryatia is a multi-tiered 
structure aimed at ensuring access to quality 
education for children with special educational 
needs. The development of this system in the 
region is driven by both federal and regional 
regulations governing the organization of the 
educational process, funding, and staffing.
According to the Ministry of Education and 
Science of the Republic of Buryatia, the region has 
specialized educational institutions implementing
adapted basic general education programs for which entails joint education of children with 
disabilities and their non-disabled peers in genera
